Welcome to the JAAGNet Community for Investment.

"Investment" is a diverse topic with several meanings depending upon the context of how it is used.  In an economic sense, an investment is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth.  In finance, an investment is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit.

Investment can also be seen from the perspetive of a company's desire to raise capital from Investors for various reasons.  Making the process of raising funds both efficient and succesful is key to business growth and, in many cases, their survival!

So let's start with a definition:

  1. the action or process of investing money for profit.

  3. an act of devoting time, effort, or energy to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result.
    "the time spent in attending the seminar is an investment in our professional futures"
     Similar: sacrifice surrender foregoing loss relinquishment forfeiture.
