Welcome to the JAAGNet Community for Entrepreneurship Forum.

“Entrepreneurship” is the act of creating and building a business, often a small business, with the aim of eventually turning it into a profitable venture, be it a brick-and mortar business, tech startup or launching a new product or service. It’s about building on your dreams and leading them in the direction you desire, being your own boss with no restricting time schedules but to be successful it requires dedication, hard work, long hours and countless sleepless nights.  Unfortunately, even with all of the above it can still be a treacherous venture and sadly many start-up businesses fail for various reasons, e.g. lack of capital, market demand, poor management decisions, economic slow downs, to name a few.

The people who create these businesses are called Entrepeneurs they are usually seen as innovators, sources of fresh ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures, they need to be willing to go on a daring adventure unsure of the final destination.

"The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship"

"The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship"
This is an absolutely outstanding (award winning) article posted by Jessica Bruder on Inc back in 2014. It is a MUST read for any young Entrepreneur.

I want to kick off my comments from the great novel by Charles Dickens about the French Revolution -- A Tale of Two Cities:
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.".

Pretty powerful stuff but a complete picture of the reality of the roller coaster ahead of you!! Yes it is a roller coaster which will question your very soul and beliefs at times. But look and dig deep to find those life lines when you reach those desperate times (which you will).

If you watch the movie "Pursuit of Happyness " you will know what I mean (and yes it is spelled with a "y" if you watch the movie you will understand why). Don't forget you will not suffer alone you will probably put those closest to you through "Hell" too and not all relationships may survive, but dig deep and cling on as hard as you can and fight through and be open about what you are going through, as you are in it together.

The article talks about the financial crisis and its impact in the USA on a small business and there are parallels (today) on what might happen with the Financial Impact of the Novel Coronavirus or Brexit on your business, look for those life lines they are going to be out there, keep those close to you even closer be open about how you feel and most of all dig deep and hold on to your dream. Read this article, its REALITY.
